Crassula perfoliata var. falcata (Propeller Plant) Care
Crassula perfoliata var. falcata (Propeller Plant)
A large, weird succulent with fleshy grey leaves arranged propeller fashion around the main stem. In Latin, perfoliate means the leaves surround the stems and falcata means sickle-shaped. Bright red flowers may appear on larger plants in summer. The stem will eventually reach a height of around 2 feet.
These plants tend to become top heavy so as you pot them up try to use a pot with a wide base. Grow in a well-drained mixture of 50:50 John Innes no 2 and grit. A heavy pot will also help with stability.
This plant is frost tender and needs to be kept indoors or a heated greenhouse or conservatory over winter. Minimum temperature 2°C
